What's New at KPMG
The Data Protection Act 2004, Act No. 13 of 2004 which came into force in February last year provides for any or processes any information relating to living individuals, for example employees, customers, suppliers etc., to adhere to good data management practices. Employers will have to comply with the provisions of this law.

An important requirement of the Act concerns the registration of organisations that keep personal information as Data Controllers with the Data Protection Office. The deadline for registration is Friday 30 April 2010. Failure to do so shall constitute an offence and will give rise to prosecution.

KPMG Mauritius is pleased to present the Budget Highlights for the year 2010 based on the Budget Speech delivered to the National Assembly on 18 November 2009 by The Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Empowerment, The Honourable Dr. Rama Krishna Sithanen.
